January 2012

This month’s Gearmail winner is Joern Vonnahme from Hannover, Germany.  Joern is a motorcycle camper and plans on using his gear when he tours through Europe in 2012.

For his prize Joern selected the Explorer Ultralight Classic model with an upgraded Silnylon Typhoon Rain Fly, Supershelter, Overcover and 72’’ webbing straps. 

December 2011

The winner of December’s Gearmail contest is Quyen Arana of Norman, Oklahoma.  Quyen likes cold weather camping and plans to use this gear on trips to Central/Western New Mexico and Northern/Western Colorado.

For his prize he chose a light weight setup in the Hyperlight ZIP hammock with Silnylon Hex Fly, Supershelter, Overcover, 72’’ straps and Snake skins.

Les Smith  from Kansas

For his prize Les selected the Deep Jungle hammock with a Silnylon Hex Fly and longer webbing straps for camping trips with his Scout troop. 

This will be a good, light weight setup for camping around Elk City Lake and Toronto Lake where bugs can prevail.

Brian Selected the Survivor hammock in Universal Digital Camo as well as the Supershelter #2 and Overcover #2.  He plans to use his new gear in the Shenandoah National Park.

Gavril Nogovicin from Belarus.

Gavril and his wife like to go hiking and kayaking around the Crimean and Carpathian Mountains.  They’re also going to be taking their hammocks on a trip to the 500km Lucian Way footpath in Turkey. 

Gavril selected the Deep Jungle hammock with the 30D Silnylon Hex Fly and Snake skins.  A very convenient setup for spring and summer camping in a variety of environments. 

August 2011

John Beaumier from Victoria, BC

John is the owner of the Whitebird Lounge and plans to use his new gear at summer time music festivals like Burning Man and Shambhala as well as for some hiking.

I live in Longmeadow Massachusetts and use my hammock mostly for canoe trips. I often travel alone and occasionally with friends or family. My paddling is done in NY and Northern New England mostly on the Northern Forest Canoe Trail or in the Adirondacks of NY."
