Hammock Camping
Camping
gear has never been so comfortable.
Sitings of Hennessy Hammocks are coming in from campers all over North America. Reports of campgrounds with more people sleeping in HH’s than in tents are coming in from Ohio and Hawaii. Hikers come across entire Boy Scout troops sleeping in trees in their Hennessy Hammocks.
For general camping the Expedition can’t be beat. It’s economical, durable and has all the great features of the Hennessy design - the ridge line with mesh pocket, bottom entrance with velcro closure, rain fly, full mosquito net and tree hugger straps.
The Expedition is great to take along whenever you want your own personal shelter - it’s especially popular with teens who don’t want to sleep in the big tent with Mom and Dad. It’s a great place for a little nap or quiet time during the day, for reading and relaxing and looking up at the leaves and sky, safe from mosquitoes and other creepy crawlies. And it is a viable tent alternative, providing an extraordinary level of comfort.
At meal time, our hammocks all fold into a great sling chair, perfect for socializing, cooking or just hanging out around camp! The hammock can also be rolled up under the rain fly(or slipped into our new Snakeskins) leaving a covered work or play area with sun or rain protection.
For even more budget-minded campers, check out the Original Cocoon on our catalogue page - it's a great way to get started with hammock camping!

Hey
guys,
Just
wanted to say
this is the best
sleep system
out there! I
took one
with me on a 50 mile hike down the AT last year and watched as the rest
of my friends with tents struggled to find flat ground and slept with roots
in their back. I could set up and pack up very quickly leaving more time
to rest AND hike. I LOVE THIS HAMMOCK.
As if that wasn't proof enough, I'm writing is to tell you how this
awesome invention saved my weekend, and maybe a trip to frostbite-land.
Recently I was on a hike in the savage mountains in western MD. I
brought a lady friend so I picked up a cheap tent before we left.
MISTAKE. After the first night, the frost set in and we nearly froze to
death. Dew was literally raining INSIDE the tent! Desperate measures
were taken and voiding warranties was not on my mind, I set up my
Hennessey and we crawled inside with my dog! (A yorkie) All together we
weigh about 280. Snuggled and cocooned we were soon toasty and safe. No
dew, no frost. We enjoyed a great weekend after that! Thanks for a
wonderful product.
Customer
for life.

Backpacking will never be the same for me. I came across you website while simply looking for a hammock for lazing around my camp sites during the day. What an idea! Your products make so much sense. Drove to Natick Mass. the next afternoon to REI, the closest retailer, as there was no time to wait to get it by mail for the weekend. It was perfect the from very first night. Any serious backpacker should look into this. It's worth every penny. I'm 55, and have hiked since I was 15. I'm free! No tents, mats, or tarps.
The Hennessy system expands my backpacking capabilities greatly;
Set up just about anywhere, it expands packable territories, allows me to go out into areas away from the popular trails and/or cross country. (New England woods are rocky and densely forested)
Weather resistance (White Mountain/ Mt. Washington N.H. weather can be bad, even in summer season) Saves pounds off my pack weight
It's comfortable ! It's always dry ! It extends the hiking season....... I'm really looking forward to some
cold winter weather to enjoy it. Customer service is immediate!
And, the Hennessy Hammock website is very appealing, it answers any questions anyone might have. I will be ordering a Super Shelter later this
week.
Thank
you again

"I recently purchased and used a Hennessy Hammock and want to tell you what a terrific device this is. It is the greatest thing to happen to the backcountry since the external frame backpack."

"First I have to tell how much fun I've had with my Hennessy Hammock (expedition 2.5). I say "fun" because laying out a tent and all the headaches finding the right location and all the extra "stuff" needed is a real hassle. Since I bought my HH in October at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo, I've left my old tent in the shed. The hammock is so easy to pack, put up, take down, and I sleep like a ROCK! One night, in 40 degree weather (which is cold for South Texas), I slept 10 hours without feeling groggy or stiff, and I woke up refreshed! Though I don't travel to far away places or exotic lands, my Hennessy Hammock is the best! I even used it in my presentation on tent and shelter designs for my college Camping Class, after which I was stormed with requests for information. Of course I gladly obliged. I think a product this good deserves all the promoting I can give it."
"I caught wind of your 'cuddle me anywhere' shelter that passed me on the AT in Maine. Showed me the sack, that's it. Left me standing there like I had an anchor tied to my starboard ass. I looked down to determine the problem and there it was: my six pound tent/hotel. Called the outfitter in Bangor, and after the luckiest day of hitchhiking in my life was back on the Trail in a day after you guys had sent the fruit of your genius overnight (or damned quick). This thing is not just a bit of a good idea. Anywhere, now, dry in the face of misery.....Jesus, there won't be any tents left anywhere there are trees in just a matter of two years. Car campers excluded. Everybody that saw the thing went verbal to loquacious instantly. "Low impact" went to "No impact." "Sensitivity to the gentle bark of trees" went to "Coddle a tree" or "Hug a tree" and allegiance was sworn. I'd let hikers in my cool green and had to beat the bottom w/ a dead branch to get them out. Sent them away to get their own. I'm not a Gear Head, but this hammock turns any kind of head that just likes a good idea executed well. You guys and girls don't need good luck, just a bigger building and more machines to prepare for the oncoming onslaught. Just hope you can still have fun when you hit the tidal wave of orders coming your way. Last point.....you can set this up all wrong as hell and it's still a haven of comfort in conditions that give away none."
